TIMELINE

1937 — Where It All Began

The Inception — Murree, The Land of Clouds

Our story began nearly nine decades ago in the foothills of the Himalayas, in the scenic town of Murree. At a time when ready-made garments were not common in the region, we pioneered the concept and opened our first shop, originally known as “The Gown House.”
This marked the beginning of a legacy built on craftsmanship, quality, and trust.

1947 — The Partition

1941 — The Name ‘DEANS’

New People… A Growing Community

From Gown House… to Deans

The name ‘Deans’ comes from the Urdu name ‘Deen’, which literally translates to ‘Faith.’
Mazher and his brother, Fakeer Hussain, named the business after their father, Qazi Mohammad Deen.
Since then, the business has continued to serve customers with quality products — a commitment that remains our core principle to this day.

In 1947, the Subcontinent was divided into India and Pakistan, leading to one of the largest migrations in world history. Mazher and his family, being respected figures in the region, played a key role in helping migrants settle.
The influx of new families also contributed significantly to the growth of the business.

1949 — Expansion to Rawalpindi

Saddar — A New Beginning

After the success of the Murree shop, Mazher and Fakeer decided to expand to other parts of Pakistan.
They opened their second shop in Saddar, Rawalpindi, which at the time was a prime commercial area.

1952 — Moving to Lahore

The City of Gardens — Mall Road Shop

When the family moved to Lahore, it was a natural step to establish a shop there and close the original Murree branch.

1961 — Entering Karachi

Saddar — Welcoming the City of Lights

Continuing with the vision of expansion, the business opened another shop in Saddar, Karachi, recognizing it as an important and thriving business hub.

1979 — Our Own Factory

Multan Road — A Major Milestone

A significant step in the business journey was the establishment of our own factory on Multan Road, Lahore, marking a new era of growth, capability, and independence in production.
